Hello, I am Lissie (FKA Felicity). I am the MK Doll family elected spokes person. I am not the loudest or most rowdy member of this family, but I guess being a PM Felicity, I've been around the block so to speak, so here I am. While this is my blog, it really is the blog that will document our entire doll family's adventures together. We are a new doll family and are certainly growing. Some of us are having difficulty adjusting to the changes. Others, well we know we are so lucky to be here, although it does get overwhelming at times.
The entire family consists of Mommy's dolls (5 in total, but told there is another on the way!). The other part of the family are Toot's dolls (Toot is Mommy's daughter). There is a group of 4.
So a little more background who we are.
When mommy was a young girl, circa 1986, she received a catalog for American Girl dolls. She was completely and totally enthralled with her dolls. Her mom AKA Gramma or the Seamstress thought mommy was too old for a new doll and frankly, they were also expensive dolls!
Fast forward a few years and Mommy gets married and starts her own family. Her first child is a daughter, Toot! She was excited because now she may be able to get Toot into American Girl.
For Toot's 4th birthday, Mommy bought her a bitty baby (Daisy). Toot really didn't pay much attention to Daisy. Mommy thought she would try one more time for Toot's 5th birthday and got her a My American girl doll, number 52, that looks like Toot. Later that year, Mommy, Gramma and Toot took their first trip to American Girl in Chicago where they got Star (FKA Molly). The family has begun.
The story now reaches September 2011. For Mommy's birthday, Gramma bought her the doll that Mommy has been wanting since that first catalog in 1986. Gramma bought her a PM Samantha. MOmmy was so excited. Toot also has a birthday in September and she really wanted Lanie. She recalled Lanie from her first trip to American Girl back in 2010 and was sad that Lanie was retired. So if you are still with me, at this point the family consists of Daisy, Tissa, Star, Samantha and Lanie!
At this point, the doll family rapidly expanded. Bitty Twins entered the family (Jack and Jill). Then came Rebecca right before Thanksgiving 2011. Then for Christmas Elizabeth and yours truly were added as gifts to Mommy. Toot was pining for Kanani so much and was lucky that Mommy had forsight enough to get her before she sold out. So Kannni joined us as well. Gramma also got an AG family surprise when she got Kit from Toot and Mommy!
One last addition was Noelle -- she came shortly after Christmas. Noelle is a My American Girl #37 and boy is she a pistol!
So here is our family today. We are happy to share our adventures with our other dolly friends. :)
